Kendall County welcomed its old time residents along with all of the more recent newcomers to meet each other in an historic setting. The first-ever Kendall County Neighbor Day Picnic was held on July 28th at Lyon Farm.
More than 500 attended the event which featured fun for families and kids of all ages. The pony rides were very popular as there were riders non-stop throughout the five hour event. Naturally, the dunk tank was a big hit especially when local officials were involved such as Kendall County Coroner Ken Toftoy and Oswego Village President Brian LeClercq.
Music played throughout the event and everyone one, young and old, enjoyed the name tag number matching game which gave neighbors a reason to meet each other in hopes of winning door prizes which ranged from $20 to over $200 in value.
The cross section of Kendall County was evident in the mix of the crowd. Many in attendance were long-time residents, but there were a great deal of families who have recently made Kendall their home includingone familywhomoved to Yorkville less than one month ago.
